Description
Fractions assist in understanding numbers easily in order to make calculations faster.
Fractions are crucial in education because they serve as a foundation concept for advanced Mathematics (particularly algebra) allowing children to understand parts of a whole, develop critical thinking skills, and apply maths concepts to real-life situations.
In Mathematics, a fraction is defined as a part of the whole thing.
It is written as one number over another number. The top number (numerator) depicts how many parts we have. The bottom number (denominator) depicts how many equal parts the whole has. For example, if a pizza is divided into four equal pieces, then each piece is represented by 1/4.
How to Wonder & Bloom
Practice fractions by placing a numerator and denominator from your number set onto your Bloom Board.
Once you have done that, problem solve on your own and figure out your fraction using the pieces provided.
For Example: if you put 1/1 as your fraction in the space provided, your answer in your big circle will be one whole wooden cut out.
If you put 2/3 as your fraction, you will put two of the three-quarter pieces into your big circle cutout (two of the pieces that say 1/3)
