Description

Letter formation is essential because it directly influences a child’s ability to write clearly and smoothly, which is important for effective communication.

Forming letters by hand also enhances letter recognition and reading skills, in young children. Therefore, correct letter formation not only helps children learn letters more efficiently but also allows them to write easily, supporting better overall literacy development.

The correct letter formation aids in developing fine motor skills, cognitive connections, fluency as well as building confidence when writing.

How to Wonder & Bloom

Practice tracing the lowercase letters of the alphabet starting at the correct place. Use the dots and arrows on your Bloom Board to guide you in the placement. Say the letters as you trace them.

Challenge yourself to write them independently on a separate piece of paper or whiteboard from home. Remember to make sure that you are forming the letters correctly by starting at the starting point (the dot) and following the arrow in the correct direction.
