Description

Number matching is a very important numeracy skill whereby children count and match. This helps children develop a strong foundation in numeracy, including counting, number recognition as well as understanding quantities. It encourages critical thinking as children analyze and categorize objects based on their numerical value.

Understanding the correspondence between a number and its physical representation ís an important skill for the base of mathematical concepts.

How to Wonder & Bloom

A simple, yet effective activity for early learners. Place your board in front of you with your square tiles spread out. Pick up a tile, count the dots on it and place it in the correct slot on top of its corresponding number. Complete your Bloom Board by placing all the dotted tiles into the respective slots.

You can do this activity another way – look at the number in the slot on your board and then find its corresponding dot tile and place it inside.
See how fast you can do it and count out loud as you go!
