Description
Building words offers numerous benefits, including improving letter recognition, spelling, and phonemic awareness.
Word construction helps expand vocabulary and encourages cognitive development as children experiment with different letter combinations. It also lays a solid foundation for reading and writing while promoting creativity and word play. Building words also boosts children’s confidence and fosters a deeper understanding of language.
Encoding and decoding words helps us build on our phonemic awareness. The more we practise, the easier it gets!
How to Wonder & Bloom
Practise building different words with your wooden letter tiles in the space provided. Once you have built a word, practise writing it with your whiteboard marker in the space on the white Perspex.
Rub off your word, and build a new word with your wooden tiles and repeat this process.
This a fun way of practicing your school spelling words for the week so that you get full marks for your spelling test!
